Sideways is add-on software for Lotus 1-2-3, Symphony and Quattro that allows you to print wide spreadsheets "sideways" - a feature that was not native to the applications at the time.
It also allowed you to modify some of the other appearance features of the printout by turning what was normally a "text" based output into a more flexible bitmap output.
Although it was never known for this feature, the software also worked with word processor and scheduling programs as well, modifying their output in the same way.
