Asimware was founded by Paul Reeves of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Paul worked primarily on CD-ROM systems and initially developed software for Commodore that was included in the operating system. He moved on to create the Amiga's first CD burning software and sold the popular "AsimCDFS" software for many years. Asimware branched out into other software as well.

Paul sold Asimware to ioMega in 2001 and became part of their team.
