Missile Command was a popular arcade game in the early 1980s. The player used a track-ball to move a cross-hair across the screen and attempted to "shoot-down" missiles bearing down on a collection of cities at the bottom of the screen. It is tempting to suggest that this game had it's genesis in Reagan's "Star Wars" plan but the game pre-dates this by several years. WIth only one fire button on the Atari Joystick, the computer decided which base would fire at the advancing missile.
