Trophy Bass is a fishing simulation. Choose your lure, reel, location, etc. and compete in the B.A.S.S. Masters tournament, star a career or just spend an afternoon at the lake of your choice. The game is played from a top-down "omniscient fisherman" perspective from where you hit the water and do whatever it takes to reel in everything in the water such as working the lure, to reeling in and out, etc. via mouse.

The game is fully sponsored by the B.A.S.S. (Bass Anglers Sportsman Society) and features a comprehensive how-to series of multimedia extras featuring strategies, definitions and profiles on every lure and fish included in the game, as well as advice from fishing pros.

I'm an freelance artist and painted the cover art for this game. I put myself through art school as a fishing guide, so I was right for the job. When I was asked to quote this, I sent them a photo of me in my float tube, brandishing a bass from a local lake. They also paid me and a few other artists to do a rough "test-painting." I did the rough and won the job over the others (not fishermen :) They liked the rough so much they published it in their promotional material too ... a very unusual move. This painting led to many other game covers for Sony, Cabella's and a fundraising game for the Boy Scouts of America.
