Atari 1040 STE

Release Date: 1/1/1989
Manufacturer: Atari

The Atari 1040 STE was intended to compete with the Amiga line by enhancing the original design to include more colors (4096) and a blitter chip. At the same time, it would retain compatibility with most of the older ST software that had already been in the market for four years. This was the last of the series in this form factor, before Atari moved onto the Mega series.
