The Amiga 2000HD was essentially a souped up Amiga 2000. Included with the base machine was a Commodore 2091 SCSI controller with a 40MB hard drive attached. The controller was also capable of acting as a memory expansion device by simply plugging the appropriate RAM chips in.

The 2000 series led the way to the development of the Video Toaster, which made the Amiga a popular choice with television studios.

My company produced 35mm slides from Video Toaster Framegrab's sent to us from our customer base in the US from the 1990's up till we had to change Operating Systems to Windows. We used the 2000 and 2500 computers hooked up to our two different 35mm digital cameras. Worked quite well to produce a hard copy slide from the customers Framegrab's which they used for advertising. We loved our Amiga's and at the time were state of the art for video graphics production. We would have loved to see this computer developed to its full potential but Commodores lack of support forced us to change over to Windows machines. It still has a sweet spot in my memory as a unique and fun machine to work with. on Friday, March 1, 2013
